Four men on a fishing trip chat about their wives

With so much uncertainty going on in the world, we thought we’d offer you something a little more lighthearted. We hope this joke about four men and their boss wives brightens your day!

Picture this: four guys, early morning, coffee thermoses and tackle boxes in hand, heading out to the lake for a weekend of fishing.

It’s quiet, with a bit of fog hanging over the water, and for a while, it’s just the sound of lures hitting the surface and birds calling out to each other.

Eventually, though, as it always does with longtime friends, the banter starts. And, of course, the conversation turns to their favorite – oftentimes the most complicated – topic: their wives.

The first guy opens the conversation by telling his pals about how he was able to convince his wife into letting him escape the duties at home to go on a weekend fishing trip.

“You have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out fishing this weekend. I had to promise my wife I would paint every room in the house next weekend,” he said.

The second guy laughs and says, “That’s nothing!” Sighing over his upcoming tasks, he adds, “I had to promise my wife that I’ll build a new deck for the pool.”

The third guy pulls his line out of the water and takes a swig out of this thermos.

“Man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I’ll remodel the kitchen for her,” he says as he puts the coffee back down on the deck.

The four men continued to fish, until they realized they hadn’t yet heard from their last friend, who seemed unusually calm.

One of the men blurted out, “Hey, you haven’t said anything about what you had to do to come fishing this weekend. What’s the deal?”

Turning his look away from his fishing rod, the fourth guy smiled and said, “I just set my alarm for 5:30 am. When it went off, I shut off the clock, gave the wife a nudge and said, ‘fishing or sex?’ and she said, ‘wear a sweater.’”

We really hope this joke brightened your day! Please share it with anyone you know who could use a smile!
