Oprah Winfrey, the beloved media mogul, was recently hospitalized at the age of 70 due to a severe stomach virus. Gayle King, who was present during the broadcast, shared detailed information about Oprah’s symptoms on an episode of CBS Mornings.

According to King, Oprah was determined to push through her illness, saying, “I’m going to rally, I’m going to rally.” However, her stomach flu took a toll, resulting in discomfort from both ends. King tactfully avoided going into graphic details, but emphasized that the situation was serious enough for Oprah to require medical attention and dehydration treatment, including an intravenous (IV) drip.

While King assured the audience that Oprah will be alright, she also expressed her concern for sharing these intimate details, acknowledging that it mattered to Oprah and that she deeply regretted not being present for her fans that day.

 

The exact date of Oprah’s hospitalization remains unclear. However, she or someone from her team took to Instagram to announce the book club pick, Familiaris by David Wroblewski.
