Dad Tells 3-Year-Old Son He Can Have A Toy As Long As It Fits His Hand — Is Left Speechless By Son’s Smart Move

Kids love toys more than anything else in the world. Toys make them happy, and if the toys were educational, they might even learn something.

However, some parents restrict their children from buying toys. There are times when this is due to a lack of money, and sometimes it’s just because little kids enjoy anything that catches their eye, regardless of whether it’s age (or wallet) appropriate.

The father of a 3-year-old boy named Auggie Gallagher was shocked at how he was outsmarted by the youngster.

His father, Thomas Gallagher, wrote on Instagram in January 2024 that he told the sweet kid he could only have a toy that fit in his hand.

Auggie was shown holding a large box that appeared to be a musical set for children that included a keyboard and turntable.

The boy appeared to struggle to hold up the box because it was so large.

Thomas told his son, “You can get a toy that fits in your hand.”.

Suddenly, the father asked his son if he could hold the box with one hand.

Later, a menacing background sound played, and Auggie had an idea. When he placed the box back on the toy shelf, it was unclear what he would do next.

“Watch daddy, okay,” the boy said, then he carried the toy with one hand, outwitting his father.

At first, Thomas was speechless, but then he burst into laughter.

During an interview with Today, Thomas revealed that his son is indeed smart, saying: “He’s a clever little guy who always thinks of ways to get what he wants.”.

Auggie was determined to get the toy based on the video, but his father said he didn’t get it.

He left it at the toy store because he “lost interest and picked up a fire truck instead.”

“When he embarrassed me again (I called it a piano and he corrected me), I told him he could keep it if he carried it to the checkout. After taking two steps, he was immediately distracted by the “little people” fire truck. He got that and a little people school,” the father wrote in the comment section.

The video had already been seen by millions of people, and thousands of them were astonished at how smart Auggie was.

One person wrote, “He’s not even my kid and I feel like a proud Mama saying, “That’s my baby!” Lol

“So…did my mans get the toy or no?  “He deserves the toy because he passed the “fits in one hand” test,” one commented.

“ He understood …. Let’s walk to the register dad, so you can hold your credit card.

,” another one wrote.

Having said at the time of the interview that “there has been no negative feedback,” Thomas enjoyed reading the comments.

“I’m glad the video made others so happy,” he added
